A BIG WELCOME FROM MUSIC DIRECTOR STEVE COWPERTHWAITE

After huge musical successes over the last two years, Barnt Green Choral Society starts the new 2024/2025 season with a programme which is exciting, demanding and, above all, great fun!

In the autumn we hope to join St Mary’s Handsworth for a concert in October, and provide the very important memorial service at Waseley Crematorium which gives great comfort to recently-bereaved families. Our autumn term will end with our family Christmas concert which is always happy and joyous.

Our main show-piece concert in April 2025 will be called ‘Celebration’ and will feature two of John Rutter’s most effective and popular works, his Magnificat and his Requiem, with the wonderful soprano soloist Jennifer Walker and chamber orchestra.  We will complete the season with our normal summer fun concert on the theme ‘The World of Disney’.  I am greatly looking forward to working with everyone on this challenging programme and hope you will enjoy it as much as I shall.
